We have baby chicks!
In my quest to avoid factory farms, I’ve decided to keep 4 chickens for eggs. None of these chicks will grow up to be be cacciatore, I promise.
This chick’s name is Beyonce’. We also have Lady Gaga, and two yet-to-be-named. As you can see, Jon is excited to have them with us, and they’re getting lots of love.
Right now, the chicks are living in a brooder, but when they are ready to move outside, we’re going to make a chicken tractor. A chicken tractor is a portable coop with an open bottom that allows the chickens to scratch around and cultivate the earth beneath.
